Iva First Learning Center completes first annual Trike-A-Thon and raised over $1,000.00 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

On Friday, March 12, 2010 K-2, K-3, and K-4 students from IFLC defeated the rain and a wet bike track in order to complete their first annual St. Jude's Trike-A-Thon.  We had children on two-wheeled, three-wheeled, and four-wheeled cycles.

I asked one of the participating children why they wanted to participate in the St. Jude's Trike-A-Thon, and he replied, "I want to raise money so I can help the sick children."  (There's nothing like the honesty of a child.  They know how to give it to you straight.)

We also had tremendous support from our parents and some grandparents, as well.
They came out to "The Track" and whistled and clapped as their children crossed the finish line.  Thanks to all who contributed to this fundraiser; you along with the children helped to make this a great success.

We had 13 participants, and they worked very hard to raise money to help the children and families who seek treatment from St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
